Antico Borgo San Lorenzo

The Antico Borgo San Lorenzo is immersed in the green hills of Siena with a splendid view of the vineyards and a short distance from San Gimignano, Siena and Florence.

THE LOCATION

Antico Borgo San Lorenzo

The bride and groom can book the entire village exclusively for a minimum of 3 nights, allowing them to spend their free time in the company of their relatives and friends, taking advantage of the services offered at the facilities such as a restaurant for themed dinners, light lunch by the pool and continental breakfast.

The Borgo Antico, with its own romantic church among the installations, accommodates a maximum of 42 guests and is located in the heart of Tuscany between Siena and San Gimignano.

SYMBOLIC CEREMONY

Choosing Antico Borgo San Lorenzo as a venue you will have the option of celebrating your wedding with a symbolic ceremony on the panoramic lawns and courtyards or in the indoor spaces of the Borgo, as the XI century Medieval Catholic Church of S. Lorenzo or the Barn.

Civil ceremony

It is also possible to have a civil legally binding ceremony in the local Fortress of Poggibonsi (5 minutes away from the Borgo) or in the nearby Town Halls of Poggibonsi, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni among the others.

Indoor spaces

The “San Lorenzo in Pian dei Campi” Church, dated back to the XI century, preserves inside the original “La Madonna del Melograno” fresco by Pier Francesco Fiorentino. In the outside on the facade over the main door it can be seen the “Gridiron of San Lorenzo”. The Church is available for religious blessings but not full ceremonies.

Restaurant Casa Bandini represents the heart of Antico Borgo San Lorenzo. The restaurant’s cuisine offers unique dishes prepared according to old traditional recipes. It consists of three rooms, it is 140 sqm large and is located in the original stables. It is normally used to serve breakfast but also à la carte and themed dinners and can be the perfect solution for parties of up to 50/55 people.

The Borgo’s old Barn is currently used as the perfect indoor location to host banquets and open-bar services for up to 100 people. Perfect in the cold months or as backup solution. Loud music allowed until 1am.

The old Manger, located right outside of the Barn, can be a covered option for a welcome aperitif and/or the cake cutting.

The Limonaia, litterally the cytrus greenhouse, is generally used as TV lounge and reading room but during themed dinners and events it can be the perfect place for a cozy bar.

Outdoor spaces

The heart of the hamlet with an internal courtyard between the two main buildings. Today is mainly used for welcome cocktails and pizza parties, thanks to the proximity to the old wood fire oven. The small space in front of the church can host events and ceremonies.

The old farmyard “Aia”, is a space adjacent to the original bricks farmhouse. It is the main area where outdoor banquets and dinners take place. It is an outdoor space, suitable for dinners or services (after 6pm during summer), but not indicated for dancing considering the uneven floor.

The Courtyard or “Aia Nuova” all paved in terracotta tiles from Impruneta, was a space formerly used for storing agricultural vehicles. Today it is mostly used for organizing open bar services, aperitifs and dance parties. This space of approximately 230 sqm, is partially shaded by Arab awnings and adjacent to the garden in front of the Church.

Pool opening hours 9am – 7.30pm

16x8m and max depth 1,80 m.

The Pool area offers various solution for a party or ceremony. The area by the pool can for example easily host ceremonies for groups over 50 people, while the spacious solarium next to the “ancient quarry” and shaded by an Arab tent, is chosen for welcome aperitif. Due to the many security policies all events held in this venue can be arranged and managed by the property staff only and require an additional fee. The pool full regulation is provided at time Outdoor of check in.

The Borgo offers multiple garden locations for your event and ceremony to take place as for example the Panoramic Lawn with scenic views on the Tuscan hills. It can be personalized with a floral arch, a table and chairs and it is perfect for maximum 40 people. The romantic wrought iron Aviary (2 meter diameter) and the garden around it, suitable for ceremonies or as photos booth with a magic backdrop. The Aviary can be moved and decorated as desired The Young Olive Grove around the barn should also be considered as an outdoor space suitable for Outdoor a welcome aperitif.
